Final Project
For the final project I chose to post the 12 new images to demonstrate the type of photography I enjoy while showing what I have learned through the semester. Through the semester I had always told myself that I need to push the boundaries. Before this class I had some basic knowledge of photography from a class in Highschool and there was nowhere near the amount of freedom and information in comparison. Dark imagery is where I find mystery, comfort and beauty. Landscape imagery has been something I lean towards, along with using models/friends within my images. Learning the positioning of light and the purpose of shadows through the semester has aloud my photos to become more dramatic and visually appealing. Due to the follow the sun assignment I will never look at natural sunlight the same. If not for this course I would not have truly known the differences when using manual settings in comparison to auto. After taking this course there is definitely a new level of respect to those who do this professionally and the amount of dedication that follows. As someone that is a fine arts major I went into this course with the intent to develop new ways to advertise myself in a whole new way than I am used to.
All of these photos are very strong! I really enjoy the ones with the dark landscape and light and color in the sky! I can see the different controls and settings you've learned are really being exaggerated or as you said dramatized and it is very effective! Since you have already taken a photography class it is nice this class brought you to the next level. Light positioning and shadows were also something I really enjoyed playing with! I definitely have a new respect for professional photographers and photography in general as well, I did not always, at times it just seemed to effortless, not anymore! It is also interesting you have discovered new ways to advertise yourself as I took this class as a tool to advertise myself. I took photography so I could take great pictures of my paintings, drawings and sculptures.
ReplyDeleteYour images are so good and I love the amount of dramatic contrast that you display in some of the images as well as your portraits! You did such a good job capturing portraits and even the land scape. I can understand what you mean by this course will help you advertise yourself in a new way then what your use too. I always made art from crafts and like paint, pencils, and other hand held medians to create art. Using photography has been a powerful impact, and I can see your photos express just what you like most.
