  1. Cayton presented her thoughts and ideas and processes throughout the project very well! She seemed to understand the assignment and the requirements for the project and it was interesting to hear her approach to the assignment as well. While I took a more "throw a lot in" approach to picking items, she instead focused on a singular item or a few items in a lot of her compositions to highlight parts of that particular object (or objects) and it was nice to see a different perspective and vision on the items we could choose from. We also had similar experiences with having issues with certain colors showing up on our cameras, and that is something that Ellen, who was also in my group, struggled with as well so it was interesting that we all had the same issue, but also comforting to know I wasn't the only one struggling with it. I also work with Cayton a lot as my partner in these projects, and we use a lot of the same items, so its nice to see how someone using the same items thinks about the composition and lighting versus what I do with those and I think that is really cool.

  2. Cayton displayed an elegant artistic ability by focusing on one item at a time. She expressed of being a little intimidated by the freedom of all the objects, so she decided to keep her compositions intimate and minimalistic. She presented her objects in simple yet graceful and well-designed positions. She successfully captured and displayed the various forms of light, and the shadows they express at different angles. Cayton communicated her process during the project and her understanding of the assignment. I learned that initially she also had trouble with capturing the bright colors by using the glossy paper. I was thrilled to discover that I was not the only one who had trouble in capturing the colors for the “Mixed Lighting” portion of the assignment. Maya, who is the other girl in our group, conveyed that she also had a similar experience, and one big thing we had in common is that we all had trouble, especially with the green. Unlike in my experience with metallic color boards, Cayton was able to capture vibrant blue, green, and magenta colors in her photographs. So, she decided to try out the mat color paper and discovered she was able to achieve much better results. She did a great job with her presentation and images.
