Your 5 characteristics project came together well, We can tell that you understand direction very well and when looking at your intensity, we noticed that the lighting really doesn't seem to change. There was no ratio to follow on the images the intensity feels very consistent. As for temperature the compositions are great but it feel like temperature isn't being captured completely the images all seem very warm or neutral rather than giving a variety. Contrast was handled very well and enjoyed the creativity in the images. Hardness was also very nice and really liked the composition with the bottle can tell you enjoy capturing the bottom of the bottle and the tops.
ReplyDeleteFor your five characteristics project you were able to show an understanding for all direction, intensity, temperature, contrast, and hardness. In the direction portion, position five, we all thought it was really neat how you photographed the inside of the bottle- it really stood out. We also enjoyed your temperature with the green and warm tones, although there were limited color options submitted- there were no blue tones in which made that segment feel limited. Some advice on improvement would be to keep the camera in focus, or at least have a primary focus point for the viewer to see and recognize. For example, in the temperature, photo four it was blurry and it took away from the overall composition- although the positioning of the bottles were very cool and well thought out. We also enjoyed the orbs demonstrated within the photos, but again focusing on the image itself might make it stick out even more integrating the orbs and making it a focus point within the photo. Overall you demonstrated a well understanding as well as were creative in composition of the bottles, with just a few adjustments on focus as well as variety when it comes to temperature- you can have even more outstanding work within the future. -Maya Bush, Sierra Sandoval Jay Ramos
ReplyDeleteThe direction photographs are very descriptive you can tell exactly where the key light is in every position. In a few photos there is light spots from the light reflecting in the lens. That can contribute to the photo if it is purposeful and we do not feel that was purposeful. We would have also liked to see more drastic color variation in the temperature photos, the colors shown are very minimal. Don't be fearful to go all in and tune that light all the way up or all the way down. The intensity photographs are very subtle but very effective. We can definitely see you have two light sources one more minimal than the other. The strongest set of photos would probably be your hardness series aside from the light spots there is great verity in each photo of soft and hard shadows. All the photos include great shadow shapes, showing you were not photographing bottles but capturing light. All the photos are also focus very well, showing you took your time, generating lots of photos and you carefully sorted through them! Great work!
